There are not one or two, but up to 16 different types of embroideries known in Gujarat, each belonging to a different community. All the communities have their own, unique style of embroidery.

In Kutch, there are many communities who belong to handicrafts. People from communities named Jat, Aahir, Rabari, Mutwa, and Harijan are mainly known for Kutchi handicraft work.  These communities have their own style of patterns, embroidery, motifs that give them a great look.

They perform different type of craft works listed below.

Women, young girls and families of Kutch make their living by selling handicraft products or selling their art. Many organizations in Kutch and India help them providing a workplace, a market place to sell and earning the opportunity.

Bhuj, Bhujodi, Banni-Khavda, Dhamadka, Asambiya (Bidada), these are the places in the Kutch which are known as King Kutchi Handicraft or you can say Hub of Kutchi Handicraft where huge number of craft work is doing by people. These villages are the main center of kutch handicraft manufacturer.

Handicraft is not only handwork but an art of creativity. Nowadays India exports a lot of handicraft products throughout the world and Kutch handicraft work received many responses from all corners.
